Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, met with Dr. Md. Sarwar Bari, Secretary of Medical Education & Family Welfare, to discuss key matters related to Nepali students studying in Bangladesh and explore avenues to enhance educational cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, held in Dhaka, focused on improving the academic experience of Nepali students, particularly those in medical and health-related fields.
Ambassador Bhandari highlighted the increasing number of Nepali students enrolled in various Bangladeshi universities, especially in medical institutions, and underscored the importance of their well-being and academic success. Both sides discussed various challenges faced by Nepali students, including academic and logistical issues, and emphasized the need for stronger support systems to assist them during their studies.
Dr. Bari expressed Bangladesh’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for foreign students, including those from Nepal, and assured the ambassador of ongoing efforts to improve facilities for international students. They also explored potential collaborations between educational institutions in Nepal and Bangladesh, including exchange programs and joint research initiatives, to further strengthen ties in education.
The two officials also discussed the possibility of expanding scholarship opportunities and facilitating more opportunities for Nepali students in Bangladesh’s medical and health education sector. Ambassador Bhandari emphasized that such cooperation would contribute to the development of human resources in both countries and strengthen the bilateral relationship.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing optimism about the future of educational cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh, reaffirming their shared commitment to fostering deeper ties in the field of education.
