UTeM Explores Educational Collaboration with Bangladesh

The Embassy Journal: H.E. Md Shameem Ahsan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, met with Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Massila Binti Kamalrudin, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), on December 20, 2024. The meeting, held in UTeM’s Conference Room, focused on fostering educational ties and formalizing institutional linkages between UTeM and Bangladeshi institutions.The discussion highlighted UTeM’s appreciation for Bangladeshi students at the university and extended an invitation for more students from Bangladesh to join.

UTeM emphasized its affordable fees, distinguished faculty, and eco-friendly campus as key attractions. Currently, 36 Bangladeshi students are enrolled at UTeM, a number the High Commissioner praised.Both sides presented digital overviews of their respective institutions. UTeM showcased its academic programs, while the High Commissioner provided insights into the mission’s activities. The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, symbolizing the spirit of collaboration.

Following the meeting, the High Commissioner engaged with Bangladeshi students at UTeM, addressing their concerns and reaffirming the High Commission’s support for consular and other matters.UTeM representatives included Prof. Dr. Zulkifilie Bin Ibrahim, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International); Prof. Dr. Mohd Rizal Bin Salleh, Dean, School of Graduate Studies; Mr. Hazman Bin Hasib, Director of Corporate Strategy and Global Relations; Dr. Mohd Nur Azmi Bin Nordin, Director of International Student and Mobility; and Dr. Cheong Kar Mee, Director of Education.

The Bangladesh delegation comprised Mr. Pranob Kumar Ghosh, First Secretary (Commerce), and Ms. Rehana Parvin, First Secretary (Political).This meeting sets a positive trajectory for deepening educational collaboration between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
