Dhaka,Bangladesh :In a heartwarming display of bilateral friendship, India and Bangladesh have invited each other’s war veterans and serving officers to participate in their respective Victory Day celebrations, commemorating the shared sacrifices made during the 1971 Liberation War.
On the 53rd anniversary of Bangladesh’s Liberation War, eight Muktijoddhas (freedom fighters) and two serving officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces departed for Kolkata, India, to take part in the Vijay Diwas celebrations. This occasion marks India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war and the support its forces extended to Bangladesh’s independence movement. In a reciprocal gesture, eight Indian war veterans and two serving officers of the Indian Armed Forces arrived in Dhaka to join Bangladesh’s Victory Day celebrations.

These exchanges provide a meaningful platform for both nations to honor the legacy of their shared history, as Bangladesh celebrates its hard-earned freedom.
