The Embassy Journal :The Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a circular recalling several senior diplomats, including ambassadors and high commissioners. The recall order, issued on Monday and yesterday, includes Mohammad Abdul Muhith, Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York; Mahbub Hasan Saleh, Ambassador to Belgium; Mustafizur Rahman, High Commissioner to India; Saida Muna Tasneem, High Commissioner to the UK; M Allama Siddiky, Ambassador to Australia; and Rejina Ahmed, Ambassador to Portugal.

These diplomats have been asked to return to Dhaka immediately. The circular, signed by Mohammad Nazmul Haque, Director General (Administration) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assures that all travel and other benefits will be provided in accordance with government rules.

This move is part of ongoing changes under the interim government, which has been making adjustments in diplomatic postings and recalling diplomats from various missions. The specific reasons for the recall of these senior diplomats have not been publicly disclosed, but it aligns with broader reshuffling efforts within the country’s diplomatic services.
