The Embassy Journal: The Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E. Christian Brix Møller, participated in the inauguration of the Artivism for Peace exhibition at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park in Dhaka, which featured over 120 artworks by young Bangladeshi artists. This inspiring event brought together creative expressions from artists across the country, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh, Jashore, and Rangpur. The exhibition was jointly organized by UNDP, Bangladesh Computer Council, and Kashful Foundation, with support from the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
The Artivism for Peace exhibition highlighted the significant role of art in addressing pressing social issues, with a focus on promoting unity in diversity, combating gender-based violence, fostering peaceful coexistence, and raising awareness about mental health. The vibrant collection of paintings, graffiti, and other artistic forms displayed the youth’s passion and commitment to creating a more inclusive, tolerant, and peaceful future for Bangladesh.
Ambassador Møller commended the participating artists for their impactful contributions and emphasized Denmark’s continued support for youth empowerment initiatives. He reiterated Denmark’s solidarity with programs that encourage young people to build harmonious communities, such as the Partnerships for a Tolerant and Inclusive Bangladesh (PTIB) project, which Denmark has supported in both its first and second phases.
Through Artivism for Peace, the exhibition serves as a testament to the transformative power of art in social change, offering a platform for youth to express their visions for a better tomorrow. The event showcased not only the talent of young Bangladeshi artists but also their collective desire to drive meaningful conversations and inspire action toward a more peaceful and equitable society.
